An Ordinance to amend the Magistrates Ordinance, 1932.

[1st August, 1947.]

Be it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows:-

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Magistrates Short title. Amendment Ordinance, 1947, and shall be read as one with the Magistrates Ordinance, 1932, hereinafter referred to as Ord. No. 41 the principal Ordinance.

2. Section 89 of the principal Ordinance is hereby Repeal and repealed and replaced as follows:-

"Flogging. 89. Whenever any male offender is convicted Ordinance." Ord. No. 32by a Magistrate under section 26 of the Larceny

of 1935.

Ordinance, 1935, of stealing any ornament or other chattel from the person of any woman or child, the Magistrate may, in addition to the punishment awarded for such offence, direct that the offender be flogged."
